Product Care
Rainbow Pyrite is a delicate iron disulfide mineral (FeS₂). Its spectacular iridescent colors come from a razor-thin, natural layer of iron oxidation on the surface. Because this layer is microscopic, improper care can quickly tarnish or completely strip away its beautiful colors.
- Do not wash, soak, or submerge Rainbow Pyrite. Water triggers rapid oxidation, which turns the brilliant rainbow colors into a dull, rusty brown and can cause the stone to crumble over time.
- Keep the stone completely away from chemical cleaners, jewelry dips, perfumes, salt water, and citrus soaps.Never scrub the surface.
- Blow away loose debris or use a dry, ultra-soft brush to gently sweep the stone clean.
- Store your Rainbow Pyrite in a display case or pouch. You may like to place a small packet of silica gel inside to absorb ambient moisture from the air. Store separately: Wrap the stone in a soft silk or velvet cloth.
- To maintain its peak vibration, place your crystal daily on a Clear Quartz cluster or Golden Healer Clusters or a similarly high-frequency matrix. This ensures the energy is boosted to its maximum potential. We generally do not recommend putting the crystal to charge directly under sunlight as it may accelerate tarnishing its colour
