Sphaerocobaltite (also spelled spherocobaltite) is a rare carbonate mineral and the mineral form of cobalt(II) carbonate.Spherocobaltite is extremely rare and is valued by collectors for its striking magenta to rose-red color. As its striking magenta hue expresses it is the pure concentrated essence of heart-centered mineralogy.

Light SensitivityAvoid Moisture & Chemicals: Sphaerocobaltite is a carbonate and can be sensitive to acids—including vinegar or citrus cleaners—which may etch or dissolve the crystal surface. Do not use water elixirs directly with this stone; it contains cobalt, which should not be ingested.
Gentle Cleaning: To remove dust, use a soft-bristled toothbrush. If a deeper clean is necessary, a brief dip in room-temperature water with a drop of mild, pH-neutral dish soap is generally safe, pat dry immediately.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the intense magenta color of some specimens to fade or alter over time. It is best displayed in a low-UV or shaded environment.
Safe Handling: While safe to touch, always wash your hands after handling raw specimens to ensure no mineral dust is accidentally ingested.
